What style of reading the tarot do you use?
Tarot reading isn’t always clean cut and easy to define. Tarot card readings are just as unique as each tarot reader. As a result tarot reading styles are the same way.
Past lives, channeling spirits, and taking a look into the future are common things that come to mind when you think of getting a tarot reading.
Actually very few tarot readings fall into these categories.
In this article there are are 7 styles of reading the tarot that I have been able to identify during my time reading tarot.
Factual
Most of us have gained our knowledge of the tarot through study and research. At least to some degree.
Numerology, suites, symbols, and memorizing keywords and ‘definitions’ are included in the factual style of reading tarot.
This is the foundation most of us have built our reading styles upon.
Therefore rote learning is often a first step many of us transition to another style of reading as we grow.
Empathetic
An empathetic style of reading the tarot allows the querernt to relate to the card in a more personal way.
Empaths have a way of sensing another’s energy. This gives them clues to what is being felt emotionally.
Accordingly, this emotional data gives them cues on how to interpret each card. They compare what the querent is feeling vs the feelings and scenes shown on each card.
Intuitive
Intuitive readers trust themselves and their ‘gut feelings’ to help them make decisions as well as give a tarot reading.
Consequently, they have the ability to understand something immediately without the need for conscious reasoning.
So kind of a sort of instinctual reaction, a hunch, or a subtle nod in the right direction.
While every one of us possesses this ability to varying degrees intuition does take time and patience to further develop.
The Psychic Tarot Reader
Tarot is most commonly viewed as a tool for divination. The psychic tarot reading style is much different than fortune telling.

Angel cards are viewed as ‘less scary’ and are therefore often used instead of tarot cards. These cards work in a similar manner to oracle cards.

In this style of reading the cards are interpreted to deliver messages or lessons based on the theme and imagery of each card.
HOLISTIC
Lastly is the hollistic style of reading the tarot.
This is a multifaceted approach to the tarot.
A holistic tarot reader will use esoteric knowledge as reference to help you understand your situation.
They combine the elements from different reading styles to give a more comprehensive tarot reading.
You can see from the varying styles of reading the tarot that each style is unique to every individual.
No matter what the method the advice tarot can give us is invaluable and is tailored to each of us. It relays messages for our highest good in a means that is easiest for us to understand.
